The Product Hunt community is the most curious, helpful, and supportive tech community on the internet. Now the conversation can continue after launch in dedicated sub-forums for every product (e.g. producthunt.com/p/windsurf).
When makers launch on Product Hunt, they rally a community for a single day of support, discussions, and feedback. But on Day 2, there isn't a way to continue that engagement until they launch again.
Now every product gets its own forum - e.g. p/cursor - and the discussions can continue. It's a way for product geeks to talk about their favorite products, and for makers to get feedback and post updates.
(and yes, we've used a p/ construction as a nod to Reddit)
Product Hunt is a natural place to talk about products - you can @mention products, see their product hubs, and when people respond, you can see what they've built in their byline.
Let us know what you think!
@rajiv_ayyangar — this is great. For social listening, it would be great if product managers and marketers could subscribe (via email, web push, or some other mechanism) to individual product forums (e.g. beyond Product Hunt internal notifications).
Is that coming soon?
This is great. Have you considered turning this into a feature to leverage before a launch? Often, products have a waitlist, and you want to engage and encourage a discussion with people on the waitlist. It could be a private forum before the launch. And on launch day, it will turn into a public forum. Some food for thought 🍣
I recommend Product Forums (p/) to anyone who wants to continue discussions after the product launch! It's a great way to stay on top of what's new and share ideas with the community. Each product has a separate subforum, which makes discussions more structured and useful.
absolute fan. I just published a monthly update on what the team shipped at @Bucket. Product Hunt is a place where I enjoy hanging out, and I'm really looking forward to engaging more with the community.
keep up your amazing work, ?makers 👏👏
Super interesting — would love the ability to upload images and screenshots to Product Forums!
Congratulations! Do I understand correctly that now each product will be able to maintain its own forum and participate in others?
This gives me a reason to visit PH multiple times every day now. Very excited for the "preddits"
Just don't call it a subreddit. I think Reddit will have something to say about that. :-)
I've always felt this is one of the missing parts since the introduction of Product hub pages. Glad to have played a small part in building this and making it live :)
So excited for our team to share Product Hunt Forums with the world today 🎉 We now have a dedicated space for product nerds 🤓 to talk all things product!
Last year, we launched Shoutouts, giving you a dedicated place to showcase love 🧡 from the awesome products you power 💪🏽 (way to go social proof!). Now, with Forums, we’re taking it a step further.
Instead of navigating scattered threads across social media and the web, we’ve created a centralized hub for all your product discussions 💬. Product Hunt is no longer just where you launch - You can now engage with your community, understand what’s important to them, answer their questions, keep them up to date on what’s new 💡etc, right on your product hub (p/“yourproductname”)!
And for all the product nerds out there looking for the best tools for your needs—we get it. You’re tired of sifting through paid reviews and spammy affiliate links. That’s why Forums is the trusted, community-driven space where you can ask all type of Product questions and get answers and insights from real people - just like you! At a glance of each discussion thread, you can even see the credibility of each person on display 🧐 - if they’re verified, what products they’ve built, etc.
Jump in and ask the community your burning question - we’re excited to hear what you all think!
I've talked to so many Makers over the years who have had incredible launch experiences on Product Hunt, but weren't sure where to go on Day 2. They want to have a way to keep their new audience up to date on changes that aren't full blown launches, follow up on the great feedback they got, and tap their new followers for feedback as they continue to build. Product Forums gives Makers the ability to do all of those things now. And from a user perspective, you now have a dedicated place to share thoughts or ask questions about every product that's launched on Product Hunt.
I'm super proud of this launch and everything the Product Hunt team has built here! If you have any feedback or thoughts, be sure to drop them here!
If you are a maker and have a wishlist for product forums, let us know in this thread. This is just the beginning of forums, and we would love to know what direction you want forums to go.
Get ready to get banned if not using product hunt as per community terms and conditions 🤓
So excited for all the product discussions post-launch! We hear all the time about how launching is the biggest thing, and while it certainly is important; connecting with your user base and optimizing your product for them is incredibly valuable in the long run. In comes Forums 😎 Please share feedback! We’re all ears!
