I built Probedex because I kept running into the same problem when researching SaaS ideas: finding competitors is easy, but understanding why they are growing takes a lot of manual work.
The useful signals are usually scattered across SEO tools, traffic estimators, backlink tools, ad data, YouTube, Reddit, Product Hunt, pricing pages, and spreadsheets. Probedex brings these signals into one workflow and turns them into competitor teardown reports.
A teardown can help answer questions like:
- Where does this SaaS get traffic from?
- Which SEO keywords and pages seem to be working?
- What backlinks or directories are worth studying?
- Are there signs of paid ads, creator mentions, or community traction?
- What growth angles could be tested next?
One important note: Probedex is not meant to pretend that every data point is perfectly accurate. Traffic and revenue signals are estimates, and some public data is noisy. The goal is to make competitor research faster, more structured, and more actionable while being clear about uncertainty.
I’m building this mainly for SaaS founders, indie hackers, SEO marketers, and small growth teams who want to validate markets earlier and avoid building or marketing in the wrong direction.
