Hi hunters! I’m excited to finally share Printroom with you — an AI image generation app with the feeling of paper, ink, white space, and old magazines.
You can download Printroom on the App Store here:

🖨️ Why I built it
I love the feeling of an image being printed.
Not just displayed. Printed.
Even when an image still lives inside a phone, I want it to feel like it has weight, edges, texture, and a little paper warmth.
Most photo apps focus on editing, retouching, or making everything look perfect. Printroom is different. It is more like a quiet private print room you can carry with you. You choose an ordinary photo, choose a paper style, and let AI return something with surprise, texture, and atmosphere.
The problem
Many photos are not bad. They are simply too fast.
Before they are truly seen, they get pushed back by screenshots, chat images, work files, and the next photo you take.
A street corner from a trip. A beam of light on a table. A friend, a pet, a window, an ordinary afternoon.
Some photos don’t need heavy retouching. They just need imagination.
✨ What Printroom does
Printroom lets you send a photo into an imaginary print room.
It lowers a little of reality’s noise, leaving light, paper, ink, edges, and emotion. Then it returns a new AI-generated image that feels as if it came from a magazine, a scrapbook, an old art book, or a private album.
AI is not the protagonist here.
The protagonist is still your photo, the reason you chose it, and the feeling of waiting for it to come back changed.
🚀 Main Features
Drop a Photo
Choose an ordinary photo from your album — JPG, PNG, HEIC, or just a small fragment of life.
Choose Style
Pick a visual direction: paper, manga, animals, or random drawings, you name it.
AI Image Generation
Printroom sends your photo and selected style to the backend, then returns a new AI-generated image with paper texture, print marks, atmosphere, and visual language.
Save Your Work
Save the finished image to your photo album, keep it private, share it, or print it.
Portfolio
Your generated works stay in your portfolio like a growing stack of personal prints.
🧾 Why “paper”?
In Printroom, paper is both a credit and a metaphor.
Each generation is like sending one photo into a print room. You spend a sheet of paper, and something comes back.
This keeps the experience simple, tactile, and a little ceremonial.
🎲 About AI uncertainty
AI-generated images are not always perfectly predictable.
Sometimes the result is close to what you imagined.
Sometimes unexpected textures, compositions, text, edges, or details appear.
Sometimes it takes the photo somewhere you did not expect.
I don’t see this entirely as a flaw.
Paper absorbs ink. Old magazines yellow. Prints have grain. Handmade things leave small deviations.
Printroom keeps a little breathing space between control and surprise.
🌐 Multilingual Support
Printroom currently supports:
English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Russian.

Printroom was hunted by Haoan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
