Set your printer priorities once, then let it adapt as you move between home and the office. A native menu bar app for macOS 14+, with quick controls and local-only preferences. No account, cloud service, tracking, or subscription. πŸŽ‰ Launch offer: $1.99 (normally $4.99) through September 4.

Hi Product Hunt! πŸ‘‹ I'm Frederick, the maker of PrintPilot.

A small frustration: you open the print dialog, but the selected printer is still the one at the office while you're at home. PrintPilot handles that choice for you.

Set your printer priorities once. PrintPilot checks which installed printers are available and automatically makes your highest-priority available printer the macOS default. If that printer goes offline, it switches to the next available option.

It lives quietly in your menu bar, with quick access to the current printer, availability checks, and settings. Everything runs locally on your Mac: no account, cloud service, in-app tracking, or subscription. Built natively for macOS 14 Sonoma and later.

One detail: PrintPilot uses printer availability, not location tracking. It changes the default printer; it doesn't reroute jobs already sent to a print queue.

I'd love your feedback: how do you handle printing between home, the office, or shared workspaces? What would make PrintPilot more useful for you?
