Hey Product Hunt! I work from home, and this summer there were always people moving in and out of the house while my seven year old, Oliver, hung out with me. The problem was simple: nobody could tell whether I was free, focused, recording, on a call, or in a meeting without interrupting me to ask.
Oliver picked it up faster than anyone. Red means do not come in, green means come in, and every other color means knock first. While I was still fixing bugs, he once walked in, saw me on a phone call while the display was green, and asked, “What did you break?” Fair question. It was also the best bug report I received.
That moment is why I built Presence. It turns the signals people choose, including calendar events, live meetings, calls, focus sessions, recording tools, and manual controls, into one clear status. It can appear on a tablet outside the office, a private family view, a reception board, Chrome, Alexa, or connected devices. Calendar titles, caller information, and precise location stay private.
Presence is only a few weeks old, and beta testers have already shaped what it is becoming. Even if I never make a dime from it, I hope it helps other people as much as it has helped me.
