PredatorMatch: Un-Cheatable Fishing
Offline-first, anti-fraud engine for outdoor tournaments
PredatorMatch replaces messy spreadsheets with an offline-first outdoor tournament engine. • Anti-Cheat: Automated GPS geofencing, metadata timestamps, & secure watermarks prevent fraud. • Offline-First: Local caches catch data in dead zones; dynamically push to the cloud on reconnect. • Native Payments: Frictionless registration via Apple/Google Pay. • Live Scores: SRE-optimised real-time leaderboards and instant push notifications on the water.
I’m the maker behind PredatorMatch. By day, I work as a cloud solutions architect and SRE, but whenever I get a weekend off, I’m out on the water.
If you’ve ever organised or competed in an outdoor tournament, you know the pain: clunky spreadsheets, paperwork mess at the docks, and constant signal dropouts on remote lakes. On top of that, cheating disputes (like reusing old photos, submitting fish caught outside boundaries, or modifying catch sizes) regularly ruin otherwise great events.
I wanted to take all that administrative and infrastructure pain out of the sport, so I built an all-in-one platform engineered specifically for unpredictable, real-world outdoor environments.
Here is what I engineered under the hood to make this work:
Un-Cheatable Catch Verification: Anglers submit photo/video catch proof, which the app validates using GPS boundary geofencing via Google Maps, metadata timestamps, and secure image watermarks.
Resilient Offline Syncing: I built a robust queueing system. Anglers log data completely offline, and the app locally caches the payload, automatically syncing with the cloud database once cell coverage drops back in.
Instant Live Leaderboards: Real-time scoring updates and instant push notifications keep everyone connected without manual tallying at the end of the day.
Slick Onboarding: Simple Google sign-in and quick entry payments using native Apple Pay & Google Pay.
🎁 HUNTER'S SPECIAL (Free Pilot Tournaments): I want to get this engine into the wild. If you manage a local sports club, a weekend angling league, a charity tournament, or any outdoor competition, I will waive the standard €8 platform fee entirely for your next event. Drop me a message here or through the app, and I will personally help you set up your boundaries, species scoring, and rules for free.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our offline sync mechanics, database queuing, or anti-fraud geofencing! I'm also happy to answer any questions about the tech stack.
