Most ski apps tell you how much snow fell. PowderRun tells you which run to ski right now. It scores every run 0–100 in real-time based on aspect, elevation, wind, and fresh snowfall. North-facing runs hold powder longer. Gladed runs stay protected. PowderRun knows all of this. 95+ resorts across North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia. 10-day forecast, push powder alerts, and a 3D scored map. Free to download.

I built PowderRun because I kept showing up to the wrong run. You'd check the snow report, see "20cm overnight" and think it was going to be a great day — then spend half the morning hunting for where the good snow actually was. Resort-level data doesn't tell you that the south-facing runs got baked by sun, or that the wind loaded the north-facing ones perfectly. So I built an algorithm that scores every individual run 0–100 based on aspect, elevation, wind exposure, solar radiation, and fresh snowfall. It knows that north-facing runs hold powder longer. It knows gladed runs are protected from wind. It knows high-elevation runs stay cold longer. Started as a single HTML file for one resort. Now it covers 95+ resorts worldwide. Would love feedback from skiers and snowboarders here — what would make this genuinely useful for your mountain?

Who hunted PowderRun?

PowderRun was hunted by Luke. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
