My bourbon shelf had gotten away from me, so I built this. Scan a bottle and the AI reads the label (proof, mash bill, age) and drops it in your cellar. Log every pour. The "Pour Tonight" feature picks one from what you already own and tells you why — based on the season, what you've poured recently, and the vibe of the night. No social feed, no ads, no retailer affiliate links. Just your shelf.

Bourbon shelf got too big to remember what I had. Every existing app was either a community review site (Distiller is great at that, by the way) or felt like a Geocities page. So I built the thing I actually wanted.
The scan uses Claude Vision instead of OCR, which sounds like a small change but makes a huge difference on a real bottle in real lighting. Catalog covers about 4,700 American whiskeys; anything not in there gets a "personal bottle" slot so your cellar stays honest.
The part that took the longest was the "Pour Tonight" feature. It picks one bottle from YOUR cellar based on what you've poured recently, time of year, and a couple of things you can tell it (mood, weather, who's there). It writes you a one-line reason. Getting it to read like a friend and not a recommendation engine was the whole game.
