Making private time private again. Porthole is an adult site indexer and proxy service, it provides unblocked, anonymous access to anyone of legal age to a selection of adult sites. Unlike a VPN, Porthole is designed to throughput video content directly to the user, so no buffering, no random blocks, no failed CAPTCHAs - Porthole acts just as a user for the entry - then gets out of the way to let you stream.
After hearing troubles friends were experiencing with VPN's (random blocks, buffering, inconsistent experiences), and realising they were paying for VPN's for the sole purpose of browsing otherwise free content - I started thinking surely there was a better option. Not all these people were technically savvy, so the idea of a VPN service was a bit confusing for a couple of them.
After a bit of exploring, I created Porthole. Friends loved it, then they started pushing me to make an effort to share it more widely (hence this post).
Now, I've had to put some ads on the site to balance traffic with running costs, whatever revenue these ads make will go right back into the site. Unfortunately the destination sites are incompatible with ad-blockers through this service as well (actively working through how to get around this) so for the moment please whitelist or disable your ad-blocker during your session.
