Hi PH! Porter Cloud works just like conventional hosting platforms that deploy your apps in a few clicks, except it gives you an option to eject to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud later as you scale. There are so many platforms that allow developers to easily deploy their apps these days (we call this category of platforms "Platforms-as-a-Service", or PaaS), so why did we build another one? We've built Porter Cloud because we've encountered countless companies who got started on a PaaS in their early days to optimize for speed and ultimately had to go through a painful migration to one of the big three cloud providers because they ran into technical constraints and reliability issues as their product actually started to find traction. We’ve built Porter Cloud so you can deploy the earliest versions of the product as quickly as possible, with a peace of mind that you have the option to eject to the big three clouds later. Just link up your GitHub repository and deploy your apps in minutes, then when you need to eject, follow a few simple steps to migrate your workloads to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with minimal downtime. Porter Cloud is live now on https://porter.run/porter-cloud, and we're giving out $5 credits on every sign-up so you can try out the platform for free. Please feel free to take it out for a spin!

Congrats on the launch! I like the 'ejecting' idea. I'm curious to understand the business strategy here. It seems like Porter provides a PaaS-like experience on top of AWS/GCP, which is awesome for startups because these cloud providers offer a ton of free credits. Why would a startup opt for Porter Cloud instead of the Bring-Your-Own-Cloud solution? Is it familiarity with PaaS offerings (like Heroku/Render) or does it actually work out to be cheaper?

Porter Cloud's ease of deployment straight from a Git repository is a game-changer for early-stage products. It's great to see solutions that grow with you, just like Checky Bear, our upcoming comprehensive website monitoring tool, is designed to adapt to a site's growing security needs. How did you ensure a smooth transition when users choose to eject from Porter to another cloud service?
