Hi Product Hunt! I'm Jérémy, a solo developer from France.
Popotam started as my own answer to the daily "what are we eating tonight?" question. I wanted the week planned and the grocery list ready, without creating an account, without ads, and without being tied to one supermarket.
What makes it different:
• Your diet is a promise, so it's checked: every dish the AI writes is re-read by code for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, allergies and the foods you skip.
• Numbers are calculated, not guessed: grocery costs come from real average prices (US averages from the Bureau of Labor Statistics), calories from an official nutrition table.
• No account: your plan lives behind a private link you can share with your household, and changes show up for everyone within seconds.
• Meal prep mode: one cooking session, a timed plan, and what goes in the fridge or the freezer.
Mealime shuts down on October 21, so I also built a free import that brings your recipes, diet and allergies over in one click.
Popotam is free and funded by donations, and what it costs to run is public on the site. The English version is brand new, so I'd love your feedback on anything that feels off!
