Pondchat — a quiet P2P video pond
Quiet P2P video pond — no signup, share a link, talk
Pondchat is a quiet video pond for small groups. Create a room, share a pondchat.com link, and guests join when they're ready — no signup, no downloads, no ringing. Media travels peer-to-peer over WebRTC; the server only relays signaling. Chat is AES-GCM encrypted in the browser and wiped when the pond empties. Also in Telegram and as a Chrome side panel.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of Pondchat.
I built it because every video call tool wanted my email, my contacts, or
a calendar invite before letting two people just... talk. Pondchat is the
opposite: you create a "pond", share a link, and whoever opens it joins a
peer-to-peer video call. No accounts on either side.
What makes it different:
🐙 Quiet by design — a pond is a link you join when ready, not a ringing
call that demands an answer right now.
🔒 Privacy by architecture — video/audio/screen go browser-to-browser via
WebRTC. Our servers relay signaling only; we can't see or record media.
Chat is AES-GCM encrypted client-side and wiped when the pond empties.
🚪 Stable doors — empty ponds keep their link, so a room you shared in
Telegram or chat stays joinable later (contents never persist).
🧩 Everywhere — the website, a Chrome side-panel extension (talk without
leaving your tab), and a Telegram Mini App via @pondchat_bot.
🤖 Agent-native — built-in MCP server (in the official MCP Registry), so
AI agents can mint ponds and post encrypted messages into the chat.
Tech: Vue 3 + Cloudflare Workers, hibernating Durable Objects for
signaling, mesh WebRTC up to 6 people, RNNoise WASM for on-device noise
cancellation. The whole backend is a signaling relay — there is no media
server to trust.
I'd love your feedback on the "quiet call" UX — is a link-you-join-when-
ready better than a ringing call for quick chats? Try it at
pondchat.com — creating a pond takes one click.
