🍎 Hey Product Hunt! 👋 We're excited to launch pom, an ingredient checker app that empowers you to make informed decisions on the products you put in and on your body. There are many ingredients allowed into our everyday products that have concerning evidence linking them to being harmful to human health. That's why we made pom. To further the efforts in ingredient transparency. We are 100% independent and are backed by science, giving you the ability to see the full scientific picture (the good and the bad). pom also allows for customization, letting you decide what's important to you. Give pom a try and start scanning for peace of mind today! P.S. we're still in the early stages so any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

A million thx isn't even close. From all of us who care about exactly this...my god have u come thru.

The fact I don't need to worry about going through the all those tiny texts is convenient as ever. Great work and congrats on the launch! @safehope22 @luciana_lara @leanna_l

🚀 This is such a fantastic initiative! Ingredient transparency is something we definitely need more of, and I love that pom is backed by science and customizable. 🎉 I'll give it a try and start scanning—I can't wait to see how it works. Curious: Do you plan to integrate features like recommendations for safer alternatives or community reviews for products? Best of luck, and I'll be sure to share any feedback as I explore the app! 🍎📲

@leanna_l @safehope22 @luciana_lara this is a fantastic idea and product. Thank you and congratulations.

Cool project, pretty practical use case, it'll be really good if one can enter their list of allergies from different ingredients, saves them and every time a product is scanned it shows whether the product contains that or not.

Just downloaded pom and it's already changed how I shop! The scanning feature is incredibly practical for someone like me who's always squinting at ingredient labels. The ingredient breakdowns are clear and actionable, and I really appreciate how they've included links to studies for each flagged ingredient. Makes it so much easier to make informed decisions while shopping. The custom ingredient flagging is particularly useful, and the app runs smoothly with fast barcode scanning. The interface is clean and intuitive - exactly what you need when you're trying to make quick decisions at the store. Currently ranking as #1 Product of the Day, and I can see why. This is perfect for anyone with allergies, sensitivities, or just trying to make healthier choices. One suggestion: Would love to see dietary preference filters added in future updates (vegan, kosher, etc.).

Congrats, a nice and practical use case! Do you consider it opening to other makets and languages too? I hope your tech can be used with different languages too. 🖖

I recommend the POM app, as it helps to easily and quickly choose products that are safe for health. Simply scan the ingredient list of any item and POM will flag potentially harmful substances.

@luciana_lara Congratulations on launching POM! The ability to scan product ingredient lists and flag harmful substances is such a practical and valuable feature. Customizing flags for specific ingredients to avoid makes it even more user-friendly. Can't wait to try it out and make smarter, safer choices!

Congrats! It really saves me, because it's painful for me to remember so many ingredients that are not supposed to take. I will check it out.~

Pom sounds like an incredibly thoughtful app as ingredient transparency is very important for people who loves to stay healthy. However, I’m curious, does the app provide detailed sources for the scientific evidence it shares? Looking forward to trying it out once it’s available!

@leanna_l Congratulations on the launch of POM! I really like the concept of helping users make informed decisions about the products they use. Just a quick question, how does POM determine which ingredients are harmful, and can users access the source of the scientific studies behind these findings?
