Seems like a cross between Arc and Horse. It has potential but needs a LOT of work before anyone would be willing to pay for this. Three issues that I noticed immediately:

  1. The UI is very rough and lacks the professional appearance of a modern MacOS app.

  2. It has a very basic built-in password manager, but lacks support for third party password managers and more importantly, doesn't support iCloud passwords.

  3. It uses Google Drive for sync? What??? Why on Earth would a MacOS app use Google Drive rather than CloudKit?

You need to add AI features — that’s the trend right now. And to avoid paying for each user out of your own pocket, you could integrate with the user’s own ChatGPT or another AI under their own login. That opens up a huge space for ideas ;)

Oh, this looks right up my alley—floating tabs for workspace management and Bitwarden support are exactly what I’ve been craving in a Mac browser. I’m definitely gonna give it a shot later today.

@matteo_ricuperoFor people who already rely on Chrome or Safari for daily work whats the moment where Pola actually starts saving time instead of felling like just another browser to manage? I am especially thinking about floating tabs and multi window use in real workflows not demos.

A productivity browser for Mac needs to be light on RAM, so I’m mainly wondering if Pola is more resource-efficient than Chrome. Also, does it have any built-in ad blockers, or do we need to rely on the extensions for that?

It’s great that it supports Bitwarden and Proton Pass right out of the box, since I can't live without my password managers. I wonder if it supports other Chrome extensions too, and how reliable the cloud sync is when switching between different Macs.

Floating tabs and multi-window browsing on a Mac sound like a dream for staying organized! I’m really curious if those floating tabs stay on top of other apps while I'm working, and if the 'smooth animations' actually feel snappy without lagging the system.

Hey, it's really nice, but paying for a browser seems like a dangerous strategy as all the others are always free. But I like the idea, just replace ChatGPT on the side with Claude 💃

Currently, the supported experimental extensions (such as UBlock Origin Lite) are still relatively limited. I am really looking forward to the official extension store becoming more enriched as soon as possible. If the AI sidebar tool can directly integrate some mainstream AI services (such as ChatGPT) instead of just connecting to the "preferred service", its practicality will be greatly enhanced.

It clearly promises "not to sell data and not to track", and it hosts anonymous data in the EU, which makes me feel quite reassured. The password management is directly integrated with Apple Keychain, making it very seamless to use. However, I hope it can support third - party mainstream password managers like Bitwarden as soon as possible.

The intelligent memory management promoted by the official is indeed effective. Even when I open dozens of tabs simultaneously, my Mac doesn't become significantly slower. However, in contrast, after installing certain extensions, the startup speed seems to be slightly slower.
