Similar to many kids from the 90s and 2000s, I had a childhood passion for Pokémon trading cards. However, with the way in which prices of sealed booster boxes have gone through the roof lately, pursuing this hobby has become a very costly one.
Thus, I've decided to attempt to replicate the whole experience of card collecting, Instead of merely pressing a button to get some static pictures, this is an end-to-end browser role-playing game and marketplace designed to function from the mechanics perspective similar to a trading card game economy.

1)Rip Era-Calibrated Packs: Open simulated booster boxes from a time range spanning 25 years of sets (from 1999 WOTC Base Set all the way until modern Mega Evolutions). Pack generation does not simply employ random logic—it uses historically accurate slot weights, guarantees holograms, and applies complex drop rate tiers for SIR and SAR rarities.
2)Haggle with NLP Vendors: Visit the virtual card show convention and negotiate with 9 unique NPC vendors through natural language. Backed by NLP engine, this will evaluate your speech and parse structured negotiation tokens (OFFER: $XXX), running it against each vendor's unique personality and pricing algorithms with hard price floors.
3)Simulated PSA Grading & Restoration: Send in your pulls to a multistage authentication facility to be inspected for centering, corners, edge condition, and scratches to receive realistic PSA 1-10 grade along with a unique slab encasement. You can prepare your card in Pre-PSA restoration studio to increase the grade likelihood.
4)1v1 Real-Time PvP Arena: Create your own room code and battle friends in real-time "Pack-Off" duels that are synced by Firebase WebSocket-based state machines.
5)Dynamic Binders & Live Pricing: Sort your collection in drag-and-drop enabled 9-pocket binders complete with animated penny sleeves and real-time portfolio valuation powered by TCGPlayer and CardMarket API.
finally a way to scratch the card collecting itch without dumping hundreds into packs. the NLP trading with NPCs is weirdly fun, tried haggling on a vintage Charizard and got flat out rejected, felt real.
