Hello everyone! I am Cüneyt Göktürk, the co-founder and CEO of Poddy. I am delighted to introduce Poddy to you.
The podcast ecosystem is snowballing with increasing listeners and content creators joining in. Today, there are approximately 500 million podcast listeners worldwide, estimated to reach 800 million in the near future. However, despite these high numbers, podcasts' potential is far from fully realized.
The current podcast world makes it almost impossible to discover new content, generate revenue from it, and engage with our favorite content creators. Recording a podcast required expensive equipment or a studio, and the biggest challenge was switching between different platforms to achieve all of this.
To make the world of audio content more sustainable and innovative, we created Poddy, a multi-voice social media platform. We have made all of this much easier now.
Poddy's "podcaps" feature allows users to produce short audio recordings of up to 60 seconds in length. These podcaps serve as brief summaries or introductions to the main podcast content, highlighting key points, providing intriguing insights, and guiding listeners to the main content. It enables users to explore different podcasts efficiently, as they can quickly get a glimpse of the content within a minute and discover engaging podcasts more swiftly.
You no longer need to take screen recordings to share podcasts with your friends, follow your favorite podcasts on different platforms, or promote your podcasts in various channels as a content creator. In addition, we have enriched our product with innovative features, such as "vomoji," which stands for "voice-emoji," making it the first of its kind in the world.
Thanks to these advancements, we have prepared a brand new audio social media experience that allows you to generate revenue and measure success within the podcast ecosystem. We look forward to your support for our application.

I understood that the news feed can allow for more efficient podcast discovery both due to short podcasts and due to the underlying recommendations system.
Could you please clarify how do you suggest new podcast to the users:
► Are they suggested based on the similar topics to what user was listening and the preferences of the similar users?
► How do you allow users to explore new podcasts? I saw you have an ability to browse through different podcast themes but do you suggest podcasts from new topics while in the main feed?

Woah, Poddy is such a cool new podcasting app! As someone who listens to a ton of podcasts, I'm pumped about how Poddy makes it dead simple to create and share little audio clips or "podcaps." The interface is super slick and easy to navigate too. Being able to like, comment on, and react with little voice clip reactions adds a really fun social element. This is a total game changer for podcasting! My only suggestions would be to add options to connect Poddy with other podcast apps like Spotify or Apple, and maybe some kind of recommendation engine to help listeners find new shows. But honestly, Poddy is off to an amazing start already - I can't wait to see where the team takes it next. They've clearly put a lot of thought into making podcasting more social and accessible. I've actually built something 90% similar before for 9 months in 2021.
Our main attraction was bite-sized podcast and social podcasting app - we believed that we can combine the trend of podcasting and the short attention timespan trend (the tiktok trend) together and make a subscription-based social podcasting app.
We've encountered several barriers that I can share. I've also seen how our competitor at that time used affiliation marketing for early growth, which is backed by YC, and might be useful for you.
