I spent the last couple of years building shipping software, which meant writing a lot of code to generate, merge and manipulate PDFs and barcodes. Whenever I needed a quick one-off tool, the options online were all the same: upload your file to someone's server, wait, hit a page limit, then get asked to sign up or pay to remove a watermark.
