I've worked on both sides of the table - as a former regulator and in a leadership role at a digital asset firm - and that combination is exactly why I built PliOS. On the regulatory side, I saw how licensing decisions get made: what examiners look for, where applications fall apart, and how small gaps in a compliance program can turn into months of delay or outright denial. On the industry side, I lived the reality of trying to get and stay licensed while actually running a business - chasing state money transmitter licenses and OCC charters, keeping FinCEN registration current, responding to banking partner due diligence, and building a compliance program with a team of two instead of twenty. The gap between those two worlds is brutal, especially for startups. Regulators expect enterprise-grade programs. Banks expect bulletproof documentation. But most early-stage crypto companies are figuring it out as they go - reactive gap assessments, policies scattered across Google Drive, and exam prep that becomes a fire drill every year. Enterprise compliance tools exist, but they're priced and built for institutions with half-million-dollar budgets, not a lean team trying to get their first license. PliOS is the operating system I wish existed when I was in those shoes: structured gap assessments mapped to real regulatory requirements, evidence and policy management that stays exam-ready year-round, and AI-assisted workflows that help a small team operate like a much larger one.
