Hunted byNitishNitish

One shared playlist where every position is for sale. Paste a public song link, pick a position, pay a dollar more than whoever holds it. They slide down one, and so does everything below. Position always follows price — no voting, no algorithm, no accounts, no subscription. Playback runs through Spotify's own public embed player, so anyone can listen without Premium. Payments are card-only, and a refund takes the song back off the list. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built this because I wanted to know what a playlist would look like if the running order cost something. Every position on the list is for sale. You paste a song link, pick the position you want, and pay a dollar more than whoever is currently holding it — they move down one, and so does everyone below them. That's the entire mechanic. No accounts, no subscription, no algorithm deciding what deserves to be at the top. Just whoever wanted it most, in public, in order. Two things I got wrong before I got them right: Position can't be a stored value. Every rank is derived from price and timestamp and recomputed on read, so a refund becomes a deletion and the order closes the gap by itself. The first version stored it and drifted within a day. The browser can never be allowed to say "payment succeeded." Only a signature-verified webhook moves the list, and the server re-prices every position at checkout and ignores whatever amount the client sends. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Redis and Vercel. It's independent of Spotify — playback just runs through their public embed player, so nobody needs Premium to listen or to take part. One honest thing: the list is young, so the top slots are cheap right now. If you've ever wanted a song at #1 of anything, today is the cheapest it will ever be. What would you put at track 1?

Who hunted PlaylistBid?

PlaylistBid was hunted by Nitish. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
