PlasticsCalc brings 33 practical injection molding calculators into one free browser-based resource. It covers machine sizing, shot capacity, cooling and cycle planning, runners and sprues, material use, scrap, regrind, production output, OEE, machine cost, and tooling economics. Each tool includes formulas, assumptions, worked examples, result guidance, and limitations for safer first-pass engineering estimates.

Top comment

I built PlasticsCalc because injection molding calculations are often scattered across spreadsheets, reference books, equipment documentation, and isolated online tools. The goal was to create one practical, browser-based resource for first-pass engineering estimates. PlasticsCalc currently includes 33 calculators covering machine sizing, material usage, cooling and cycle planning, production capacity, process efficiency, costing, and tooling economics. Each calculator shows its formula, assumptions, worked example, result interpretation, and limitations. The results are designed to support early planning and comparison, not replace material datasheets, machine specifications, mold validation, or production trials. I would especially appreciate feedback from molders, engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams about calculation errors, unclear assumptions, or useful tools that may be missing.

Who hunted PlasticsCalc?

PlasticsCalc was hunted by canghun. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
