Plans keeps notes, tasks and a calendar in one place. It opens straight to Today: only what's due, nothing else. Unfinished tasks roll over to tomorrow with a note of when they were originally planned. Completed ones archive themselves. No projects, no tags, no setup: a task is one line and a date. One-time purchase, no subscription.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm a solo developer, and Plans came out of a problem I couldn't fix by switching apps. I had two. Reminders for things with a deadline. Notes for everything else — ideas, links, half-formed lists, the stuff that isn't a task yet but will be.
The trouble is that a thought doesn't announce which one it belongs to. "Ask Max about the contract" — note or task? You decide in half a second, on the move, and half the time you decide differently than last time. So the same kind of thing ends up split across both apps.
And then things fall through the gap. Not because I forgot to write them down — I wrote them down. They were in the other app. The one I wasn't looking at that morning. My fix for years was checking both. Which works right up until you're busy, and busy is exactly when you stop checking.
Plans is one app for both. You write freely, like in Notes. When something turns out to be a task, it gets a date and shows up on Today — only what's due that day, nothing else. Miss it and it rolls over to tomorrow with a mark of when it was originally planned. Finish it and it archives itself.
A few deliberate choices:
• No projects, tags or priorities. A task is one line and a date.
• iCloud sync is free — it runs on Apple's infrastructure, charging for that felt wrong.
• Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase. No subscription.
• iPhone only for now. Widgets, light and dark themes.
If you keep notes and tasks in separate apps — how do you handle the gap? Genuinely curious whether people have solved this or just live with it.
