I'm Ashish. For the past few months I've been building the components that make a product feel crafted but always get cut for time: shader backgrounds, smooth carousels, physical controls, polished AI chat UI.
Planes is 120 of them. A few things I cared about:
• You own the source. Each component installs with one command (npx shadcn add @useplanes/...) and lands in your project as plain React, Tailwind and Motion code. No runtime package, no lock-in.
• Everyday components, not just showpieces. Recent additions: a virtualized data table, a multi-select combobox, a file dropzone, mega menu and footers.
• Light shaders. No three.js. Each one is a single fragment shader that pauses when it scrolls off screen, so a page full of them still runs well on a phone.
• Built for agents too. The MCP server lets Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT find and install components for you.
• Accessible. Components support keyboard, touch and reduced motion.
