PlanB is a free, no-ads, no-account F1 companion app — and version 3.0 is a complete rebuild, not an update. The big new thing is the Race Dashboard: open any session from the 2026 season and see what actually happened — final classification, tyre strategy driver by driver, position changes lap by lap, lap time comparison for up to five drivers, every overtake, a race log, and weather. It works retroactively too, so you can go back and replay a session from earlier this season.

I'm the solo dev behind PlanB. A couple of years ago I got tired of jumping
between three different websites just to figure out when an F1 session
starts and what happened in it — so I started building an app. It began
mostly as an excuse to actually learn React Native, and it's still a
one-person, evenings-and-weekends project.
This week I shipped 3.0, and calling it an "update" undersells it — the
whole app was rebuilt from scratch: new design system, every screen
redrawn, new navigation.
The part I'm proudest of is the Race Dashboard. After any session — practice,
qualifying, sprint, race — you get the full picture in one place: tyre
strategy for every driver, position changes lap by lap, lap time comparison,
overtakes, and weather. And it works for every session of the season, not
just the most recent one.
It's free, has no ads, no accounts, and doesn't track you — it's not trying
to become a business, it exists because I wanted it to exist.
