PixelCrafts
Free Image to Pixel Art converter, runs in your browser
PixelCrafts converts photos, illustrations, and game references into crisp pixel art — entirely in your browser. No upload, no signup, no watermark. Pick a pixel size, choose a retro preset (NES, Game Boy, PICO-8…), import Lospec palettes, add scanlines or CRT effects, then export a clean PNG. Batch conversion and Minecraft block art included.
Hey Product Hunt!
I built PixelCrafts because I kept running into the same friction: I wanted to turn a photo into pixel art quickly, and every tool either required a signup, uploaded my image to a server, or slapped a watermark on the export.
So I built a browser-local converter that processes everything on-device — no upload, no account, no watermark. You get retro style presets (NES, SNES, Game Boy, PICO-8), Lospec and PixilArt palette import, advanced effects like scanlines and CRT mask, and a before/after comparison slider. There's also batch conversion and a Minecraft block art mode for survival builds and map art.
Would love your feedback! What presets or features would make your workflow better?
The Lospec palette import works really nicely and the PICO-8 preset nailed the look I was going for. Batch conversion saved me a ton of time on my sprite sheets.
how does it handle photos with lots of fine detail, do you get to tweak the dithering or is it fully automatic?
