It’s the standard advice given to every startup, but it ignores a massive global reality: half the world can't get a Stripe account. In over 100 countries, the modern financial rails Western developers take for granted simply don't exist.
Instead, businesses rely on local mobile wallets like bKash or Nagad. While these networks move billions of dollars, they completely lack developer-friendly APIs for local merchants. This creates what we call "manual reconciliation hell."
Before PipraPay, a typical transaction looked like this: a customer pays via mobile wallet, takes a screenshot of their confirmation SMS, and sends it to the merchant. A support agent then physically opens the merchant's phone, cross-references the SMS, hand-types the Transaction ID (TXID) into their system, and manually approves the order.
This process was costing merchants up to 4 hours of manual labor every single day, and worse, 12% of orders were being lost or dropped in the friction. We built PipraPay to bridge this massive infrastructure gap.
