I built Pilot after looking hard at how mid-market landlords actually run their operations — and what they pay for the privilege. The incumbents (AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium) are powerful but bloated, and they nickel-and-dime you: a fee per module, a fee per unit, a charge for every "value-added service" bolted on top. Operators end up paying for a stack they half-use and can't see the real price of.
