Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Catalin, solo founder from Romania.
I built PickASlot because I discovered a gap in the market. Calendly takes 10% on every client payment, as a consultant. That adds up fast. And as someone based in the EU, I wanted my clients' data stored here, not in the US with GDPR bolted on as an afterthought.
So I built what I wished existed: a scheduling tool that's European by design. Your data stays in Ireland, cookie consent and data deletion work out of the box, and when clients pay you for sessions, you keep 100%.
It took months of work to get Google Calendar, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams all working together smoothly. The hardest part was handling all the edge cases: timezone conversions, calendar sync conflicts, what happens when someone declines via Google Calendar, Zoom rescheduling webhooks... the list goes on.
I'm especially proud of the team scheduling feature. If you run a clinic or agency, you can distribute bookings across your team with round-robin, each member's personal calendar is checked automatically.
