Photographers Journal
Never lose a photo spot. Build your own photography map.
PhotoJournal is a simple app for photographers and travelers to save places worth coming back to. Found a great photo spot, hidden beach, viewpoint, café, or hiking trail? Save the location in seconds, add a photo or note, and return later. Organize your places with tags and favorites, then navigate back whenever the time is right. Over time, PhotoJournal becomes your personal map of places you’ve photographed, explored, and never want to forget. Your places. Your memories. Your map.
I built Photographers Journal because I kept losing photo locations I wanted to come back to.
When I’m out shooting or traveling, I often find a scene I know could make a great photograph — just not right now. Maybe the light is wrong, I need to come back at sunrise or sunset, the weather isn’t right, or I simply don’t have my camera or the right lens with me.
I started saving these places in different ways, but eventually locations got buried or forgotten.
So I built the app I wanted: one tap to save a location, then come back later and add photos, notes, tags, favorites, or check astronomical information when planning something like a Milky Way shot.
Over time it becomes your own personal map of places you want to photograph, explore, or simply remember.
I’d love to hear how other photographers and travelers currently keep track of places they want to revisit. Do you use Maps, Notes, screenshots, or something else?

Who hunted Photographers Journal?
Photographers Journal was hunted by Nikos Psallidakis. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
