Hi Product Hunt,
I'm a solo developer. I built this after watching someone get told their iPhone needed a new battery, pay for it, and have no way of knowing whether anything was actually replaced.
The phone already knows. iOS keeps the battery gauge's real cycle count, records whether a fitted part reports itself as genuine, and writes a panic log naming the component that brought the device down. PhoneVitals reads all of that over a plain USB cable - no jailbreak, nothing installed on the phone - and turns it into a report a technician can hand over.
The part I care about most: every report carries a QR code. The customer scans it and sees the same findings on our server, cryptographically signed. A shop's diagnosis stops being something you simply have to take on trust.
Where it honestly is: version 1.0, one person, and the executable is not code-signed yet, so Windows will warn about an unrecognised publisher. The SHA-256 is published on the download page so you can check the file is ours.
The first scan on any PC is free and complete - nothing held back, no account needed. After that it is $0.40 to $0.99 a scan with no subscription.
