Petnunu drops an adorable pet onto your desktop. It walks, naps, climbs window edges and reacts when you drag it. Start a Pomodoro from the menu bar and your pet sits quietly with you, then cheers when you finish. Feed it, level it up, or make your own.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built Petnunu because my Mac felt like a very productive, very lonely place. I grew up with Shimeji and Tamagotchi, so I wanted that back — but not as a novelty you delete after two days. So the pet has an actual life: it gets hungry, gets tired, remembers its state between sessions, and levels up when you take care of it. The part that surprised me is how much it changed my Pomodoro habit. You start a focus session from the menu bar and your pet just… sits down next to your work and waits. It stays quiet the whole session, then cheers when the timer ends. I stopped bailing out at minute 12, because something was clearly waiting for me to finish. A few things I'm proud of: • 100% native — SwiftUI + AppKit + SpriteKit, no third-party libraries, App Sandbox on, <3% CPU when idle • Open pet pack format (manifest.json + PNG sequence), so anyone can build a pet — there's a Studio in the app and a community to share them • Also runs on Windows and Linux • Free to use, no account required to play What I'd genuinely love feedback on: does the focus loop hold up for you after a week, or does the pet become wallpaper? That's the thing I can't test alone. Happy to answer anything in the comments today.

This is the cutest thing, congrats on shipping! A little desktop buddy that cheers you on through Pomodoros is such a fun idea 🐱

Cute little desktop buddy that actually reacts to where you drag it, way more charming than I expected. Love that it cheers when a Pomodoro ends, made finishing sessions feel oddly rewarding.

Finally found a desktop pet that doesn't feel like bloatware. The window edge climbing and the way it cheers when a Pomodoro finishes genuinely made me smile while working.
