Most thoughts usually get lost. Speak your thoughts — chaotic, half-formed, in the middle of a walk. Pensatorium does the rest. It structures what you said, connects threads across thoughts, and surfaces what you didn't notice. It organizes action items, and turns scheduled actions into calendar events automatically. Ask questions and it answers from your own thinking. Speak, and walk away with clarity, action, and a day that already knows what to do. Not a second brain. A thinking partner.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Sofia, one half of the team behind Pensatorium. The idea actually came from my husband. He's a creative thinker who likes to reflect on everything. He started building this for himself, but it didn't take long for us to realise other people probably have the same kind of mind. You speak a thought — or type it — and it files itself, pulls out anything you committed to, and comes back to it later with a question. Here's the whole thing in 73 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZonRuNQAGk I'm a psychologist, so I got involved to help shape what the AI should actually do with what people say. How it should listen. How to keep your voice intact instead of rewriting it. When it makes sense to pull out an action, surface an insight, or ask a question worth coming back to — and when it doesn't, because sometimes a thought just needs to be heard. The thing we kept coming back to: forgetting is the symptom, not the cause. People don't lose thoughts because their memory is bad. They lose them because the thought arrives when we can't stop to pay attention to it, and with all the noise of a busy life, it's gone before we get the chance. We both use it every day now, but in very different ways. He mostly uses it to offload — anything he doesn't want to lose, anything he wants to come back to and think about later but not right now. He records, and trusts it'll be there, structured, whenever he wants to come back to it. I'm a bit more hands-on. I use it to manage my time, explore and plan projects, organise and revisit psychotherapy sessions, and keep track of what I'm noticing across the week. Same app, completely different roles. The hardest part was getting it to take the weight off your head and still be a real thinking partner. Storing what you said is the easy half. The harder half is understanding what a thought needs in order to develop, and staying honest about how much it actually has to work with. If you've tried voice or AI thinking tools before and something about what they gave you back didn't feel quite right, we'd really like to hear about it. That's the part we've been most focused on getting right. What happens to your best thinking when it arrives at the wrong moment — notes app, voice memo, a message to yourself, or do you just hope you'll remember?

Comment highlights

Hi everyone, Tiago here, the engineering half of the team.

I built this because my best thoughts never happen at my desk. The problem was that none of them ever came back to me.

When you ask Pensatorium to think with you, it doesn't just answer from your latest thought. It goes looking through everything you've told it, finds what's related, and reasons from that. So a thought you record today gets connected to something you said three weeks ago and forgot about. This is why it compounds: every thought you add makes the next reflection smarter. Six months in, it knows the context of your thinking in a way no notes app ever did.

And since these are your unfiltered thoughts, everything is encrypted.

We're a two person team and we read everything, so if something feels off, tell us.
