I'm Ashu, the solo developer behind PenPace.
I built it because I kept running into the same frustration whenever I was taking handwritten notes - constantly looking back and forth between my notebook and the screen. Traditional text-to-speech tools weren't designed for that workflow; they read continuously and move too quickly when you're trying to write.
PenPace takes a different approach. It reads pasted text aloud in short, paced chunks, giving you time to write before moving on. It's especially useful for students, professionals, and anyone who prefers handwriting or wants to reduce neck strain and screen fatigue.
One thing I cared about from day one was privacy. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your text isn't uploaded, tracked, or stored, and there's no account required.
