Indie devs leave each other real, honest reviews on the actual store listings — Chrome Web Store, Product Hunt & more. List your product, review one from the open pool, and every review is verified by a real person. Free, privacy-first, no trackers.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Mohan, a solo dev.
A few weeks ago I launched my own Chrome extension and hit the wall every indie maker knows: your listing is live, it's genuinely useful… and it has zero reviews, so nobody trusts it enough to try it. Reviews are a chicken-and-egg problem, and there's no honest way to solve it alone.
So I built PeerReview — a review exchange for indie developers.
How it works:
• List your product (it needs a live listing on a supported platform)
• Your queue shows the whole open pool of products you can review right now — pick any one
• Leave a genuine review on the real platform (Chrome Web Store, Product Hunt, etc.)
• Paste the link back; the owner reads it and marks it Verified
• Give one honest review to earn one back — no stockpiling, no bots
A few things I care about:
→ It's genuinely honest. This isn't "buy 5-star ratings" — Google prohibits that, and it'd be useless anyway. Reviews are real opinions from real builders who actually tried your thing. A thoughtful 3-star is worth more than a fake 5.
→ Reviews live on the real platforms, because that's where they're useful to future users — PeerReview just facilitates the exchange and verifies it happened.
→ Privacy by architecture (it's a tapdot product): browser-side where possible, no third-party data, no trackers.
→ Free — every feature on every plan. Paid tiers only raise your listing count.
It started as a couple of "review my extension?" threads on Reddit. There are already ~30+ developers exchanging genuine reviews in the pool, and today it's open to everyone.
I'd genuinely love your honest feedback — good, bad, or brutal. What would make this actually useful for your launches? 🙏
— Mohan (by tapdot)
Finally a review system that doesn't feel like a popularity contest. Left a thoughtful review on someone's Chrome extension and got one back the same day. Love that it's all verified and no gimmicks.

Who hunted PeerReview?
PeerReview was hunted by Mohan . A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
