I’m excited to share PDFTableX, an online tool for extracting complex PDF tables into editable Excel spreadsheets.
The idea came from a very common but frustrating workflow: opening a PDF report, copying tables manually, pasting them into Excel, fixing broken rows, rebuilding merged cells, and cleaning up formatting for hours.
PDFTableX is built to make that process much easier.
With PDFTableX, you can:
· Upload a PDF and choose the exact parsing range
· Extract tables into editable spreadsheet-like results
· Preview and edit extracted data online
· Verify results side by side, with the original PDF on the left and the extracted table on the right
· Intelligently handle images inside tables, merged cells, and complex layouts
· Export a single table, all tables, or batch results
· Export high-fidelity Excel files that closely match the preview
· Export the entire PDF as a Word document when needed
It’s especially useful for financial reports, invoices, bank statements, research papers, product catalogs, and business documents where table formatting matters.
