Most tools run in the browser, so the file you open is not uploaded. There is no account and no watermark. Signature requests and shared download links are stored so the recipient can open them, then deleted after 7 days. A signature records the name entered, the time, and consent. It is for ordinary documents, not a qualified electronic signature.
PDFfinch is for the PDF jobs people already do: combining files, shrinking them for email, removing pages, redacting text, locking a document, and collecting a signature.
The editing tools run in the browser. The file is handled on the device that opened it, and it is not uploaded. No account is required, and the result is not watermarked.
Two features work differently, because another person has to open the file. A signature request and a shared download link are stored for 7 days and then deleted. Those files are limited to 20 MB.
A signature on PDFfinch records the name that was entered, the time, and the signer’s consent. It is meant for ordinary documents. It is not a qualified electronic signature, and it is not a substitute for a service that verifies identity.
