Hi Product Hunt, I built PCAP Surgery because capture files often need more than viewing. Sometimes you need to narrow a case, anonymize fields, repair checksums, or export a focused reproduction file without losing track of what changed.
PCAP Surgery is a local desktop workbench for inspecting and rewriting packet captures with visible consequences. It is not a Wireshark replacement and it is not a packet-player suite. The focus is controlled edit workflows: inspect, filter, preview, repair, export, and hand off a smaller capture that someone else can actually use.
There is a free trial and a $19 lifetime paid workflow for export and rewrite features. I would like feedback from network engineers, QA teams, and anyone who has had to sanitize or reduce a capture before sending it to a vendor or teammate.
