Paste Formatter
Paste without losing links, lists, or paragraph breaks.
Paste Formatter is a macOS menu bar app that gives you complete control over what gets preserved when you paste. Keep links, lists, paragraph breaks, and indentation while removing unwanted fonts, colors, or other styling. It fills the gap between regular Paste, which often preserves too much, and “Paste and Match Style”, which usually removes too much.
Hi, I’m the indie developer of Daily, Ejectify and others, and now Paste Formatter: a small macOS menu bar utility for pasting formatted clipboard content with the styling you actually want.
I built it because I kept running into the same annoying tradeoff: regular paste brings along too much styling, while “Paste and Match Style” often strips too much, including useful things like links, lists, indentation, and paragraph breaks.
Paste Formatter sits in the menu bar and lets you choose what should be preserved or removed before pasting:
• Preserve or remove fonts, text colors and links when pasting rich text
• Keep paragraph breaks, lists, and indentation when pasting plain text
• Paste from the menu bar or with a configurable global keyboard shortcut
A typical use case: copying text from a website, email, or a document and pasting it into another app without dragging along weird fonts/colors, but still keeping the links and structure intact.
To celebrate its release, Paste Formatter can now be purchased for €3,99 for a limited time using discount code BETTERPASTE.

I’d love to hear what you think!
Best, Niels.
The granular per-attribute toggles are a nice touch, letting you strip just the fonts while keeping the indentation intact. Smart solution for a problem most of us have been silently fighting with Cmd+Shift+V for years.
The selective toggle approach is genuinely clever, lets you strip fonts without nuking your bullet points. Feels like the kind of tool built by someone who got burned by the default paste behavior one too many times.
finally something that lets me pick exactly what stays and what goes when pasting into notes and docs. the per rule toggles are exactly what i wanted.
The granular control over what stays and what goes on paste is something I've wanted for years. Love that it lives quietly in the menu bar instead of demanding attention with a window.
