Past Perfect is a photo editor for giving old photos a second chance. I built it to learn more about photo editing and how to create AI-powered image tools myself. Along the way, I started using it on my own old photos — restoring, enhancing and reworking images that had been sitting untouched for years. AI features, batch processing and more, all running locally on your Mac.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built Past Perfect mostly because I wanted to learn.
I wanted to understand photo editing better, but also what it actually takes to build things like AI-powered image tools myself. And while experimenting, I started using it on something much more personal: my own old photos.
There’s something surprisingly satisfying about taking a photo that has been sitting untouched for 10, 20 or even 30 years and seeing what you can get out of it today.
That’s really where the name Past Perfect came from.
It’s still a small, independent project, and I’d love to hear what you think — especially what you’d want a photo editor like this to do next.
