Hey Product Hunt
I'm Jordan, a solo dev based in Melbourne. I built PassPrep out of a pretty ordinary parenting problem: my daughter was applying for a selective entry program, and I couldn't find a good way to actually help her prepare.
Workbooks gave her endless questions but no feedback. Tutors gave real feedback but only for an hour a week, at a cost that made daily practice impossible. The section that worried me most — written expression, the essay component so many of these exams come down to — was the hardest of all to get help with. You can't mark your own essay.
So I built the tool I wished existed. PassPrep gives students timed practice tests in the real exam format (Edutest, ACER, Victorian SEAL, and now VCE English), with AI-marked feedback on written responses available any time — not just during a scheduled session. It's not trying to replace a good tutor; it's trying to fill the gap between sessions, where most of the actual practice happens.
