Hello there, I'm Anna, co-founder of Passage. Cole's comment covers what Passage is about, so I'll focus more on our background story. Cole and I first met working together at a security consulting company, where we focused on product and application security. During this time, we witnessed first-hand the security and user experience problems caused by passwords, from phishing and account takeovers to the massive amount of time and money spent managing account recovery and lost credentials. With the rollout of FIDO2 and passkeys, it felt like a real change could finally happen. We wanted to help make the passwordless future a reality, so we started Passage in 2021 to build an easy way for developers to implement passkey logins into their apps and websites. Last year, 1Password acquired Passage, and our teams now work together to bring passkeys to the world. We've been hard at work making our product better, and today, we're thrilled to bring you the latest iteration under our new brand: Passage by 1Password. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Hey everyone! We believe that security and a fantastic user experience shouldn’t have to be at odds. That’s why we’re excited to share Passage by 1Password - an authentication and user management solution that brings passkeys to consumer apps and websites. Why does this matter? Passwords can be a pain. They’re hard to remember, vulnerable to phishing, and a major reason users abandon your conversion path. But passkeys can be tricky to implement in a way that works seamlessly across all devices, especially when you're building from scratch or integrating with legacy user management tools. Passage solves this problem and allows developers to deploy a seamless passwordless experience in minutes. Now your users can register and sign in 2x faster using biometrics without any need to create or remember passwords. The security of MFA is built-in, and lower friction means more registrations and conversions. It’s better for everyone: 💻 Great for developers – Implement passwordless authentication and user management with two lines of code. 😄 Great for users – Register and sign in to accounts faster with a glance or touch. 📈 Great for businesses – Increase conversions by reducing friction while increasing security. Transitioning your users from passwords to passkeys can be intimidating, which is why Passage helps guide you through the process one step at a time. Passage is free to start, and the first 1,000 users are free with simple usage-based pricing that scales with you. Out of the box, you get: * Passwordless authentication: Enable users to sign in quickly and securely with passkeys, magic links, and login codes. * User management: Securely manage user identities and sync user data across your tech stack. * Cross-device support: Give users a seamless passwordless experience across devices with one of the best mobile implementations in the industry. Level up security AND user experience and join Apple, Google, Amazon, and other leaders in the industry to build the passwordless future. What fallback mechanisms are in place with Passage for scenarios where users cannot use Passkeys? It's important to have alternative access methods to ensure an uninterrupted user experience.

Can Passage be easily integrated with existing user databases and authentication systems? It would be helpful for companies looking to transition to passwordless solutions without overhauling their current systems.

The approach of simplifying authentication while enhancing security with Passage is quite innovative. It's a significant step towards more user-friendly and secure login processes.

I've been using 1Password daily for years, so I'll check out everything you guys launch. Definitely an interesting approach to authentication and passkeys.

What a great idea. As a 1P user and dev I’ll definitely check this out. Feedback on pricing - this doesn’t really work for b2c apps / freemium products. To be fair, most products don’t cater to us, but I thought I’d mention it in any case. Congrats on the launch!

Good idea, haven't seen too many implementations of passkeys so far. Especially with passkeys now being supported in IOS 17

This is pretty cool, I have been looking for a passwordless solution for quite some time.

Congratulations on the launch! Looking forward to seeing more consumer apps and websites add Passkeys as a login option. I hope Passage will help make that happen!
