It should be easier to understand what’s happening, so why does keeping up with the news feel like work? That's where Particle comes in. Particle organizes all the coverage so you can see the full picture of every story.

After the demise of Artifact, I was seeking a replacement. I thought Yahoo News might become that after it rebooted the Artifact codebase, but I haven't found myself using it. Meanwhile, I've become a daily user of Particle during its beta and find that its breadth, coverage, summarization, and presentation of polarized perspectives is offering me something I haven't found elsewhere. The design is also very attractive, unique, and visual. And its integration of generative AI to allow asking questions of stories is considered and tastefully not the main event. Definitely recommended!

Just signed up, excited to give it a shot! I've historically used Twitter to get my news, but it's become less functional over the last year.

I've been using the Beta version for awhile, and have been very happy with the visual design and the nice quick summaries. And they've been making it easier to increase/decrease how often you see certain topics.

Congrats, Sara and team! 🎉 Particle sounds like a fresh take on news—especially love the features like "Opposite Sides" and "ELI5," which seem perfect for simplifying complex stories and cutting through bias. Making news more accessible and balanced is definitely something we all need!

Particle News looks like an exciting app for anyone who wants to stay informed without the clutter! 📰 By using AI to organize articles into streamlined "Stories" and offering customizable summaries, it seems perfect for making news consumption efficient and personalized. 📲 The app’s focus on presenting multiple perspectives and highlighting potential political biases is a great feature for those looking for balanced coverage in today's media landscape. ⚖️ Overall, Particle News seems like a valuable tool for getting a well-rounded view of current events in a clean, easy-to-read format! 🌟

Cool product! I would like to try it, but I the Android app is not there yet! Happy to be a beta tester eheh. I am based in the Netherlands

I’ve been using Particle in beta for several months, it’s been a breeze of fresh air compared to my ol RSS feeder. The Slack forum is well taken care of, support is prompt, I’ve seen a lot of good work and improvements coming quickly to life. I hope Particle finds its way into peoples phones and strives as a business! Good luck and congratulations!

I've been using Particle since the early part of the beta, and it has become a key part of my news diet. I love how it brings all of the sources together into a single place, with a lot more smarts than the other aggregators like Apple News. The AI summarization works really well, and they have some truly unique features for understanding the news.

Congrats on the launch! Particle sounds like a breath of fresh air in the news world. How do you handle different viewpoints on the same story?

Interesting product. What control does the user have to explicitly control the new items to which they are exposed? I imagine that there is a way to select topics. But what about a way to control the similarity of recommendations? I'd be interested in a way to set new item recommendations to be highly dissimilar from each other.

With how time-consuming it can be to keep ourselves informed but crossing sources to be sure of the info and have the full scope, Particle comes as a solution. Congrats on your launch, I am really looking forward to how you'll evolve! I tested the website version but couldn't access the mobile app (being based in Spain), do you plan to extend to Europe soon? Also, will you allow users to select some topics to be shown primarily on their personalized feed or create some filtering to show only news related to a specific topic or event?

Congrats on the launch! I wanted to give Particle a try, but unfortunately, the app isn’t available in my region (I’m based in Austria). Are there any plans to expand availability in the future? Wishing you lots of success!

Hello 👋! I'm Sara Beykpour, co-founder and CEO of Particle. My co-founder @noradio and I started Particle to address a problem we all face: it should be easier to understand what's happening, so why does keeping up with the news feel like so much work? That's where Particle comes in. Particle organizes all the coverage so you can see the full picture of every story. We summarize news in a personalized feed, so you can catch up quickly. You can see the different sides of a story ("Opposite Sides"), or simplify the language and tone ("ELI5"). You can even set it to translate it to your preferred language. The way a story is covered can be as crucial to understanding what’s happening as the story itself. Particle shows you the coverage across a spectrum for political stories, and you'll see a callout if the coverage of a story is particularly one-sided. It's early days, but we've received great feedback and ideas, and we'd love to hear yours. We're just getting started. Big thanks to @chrismessina for being our hunter! We miss Artifact too. But as one of our beta users recently said to us... "Artifact walked so that Particle could run."
