Hey PH! 👋 Abhishek here — I built PALM and wanted to share why I made it.
I was drowning in browser bookmarks. Hundreds of them, zero context. I'd save something, forget why I saved it, and never go back to it. Every "read later" app I tried wanted an account and stored my data on their servers.
So I built PALM — a bookmark manager that actually tells you what you saved and why it mattered.
Here's how it works: You save any page → PALM extracts the article content (ignoring ads, nav, sidebars) → sends it to Gemini AI → gets back a crisp 2-sentence summary + 2 auto-assigned tags. Everything stays in your browser. No server. No account. Forever.
What's in v1.5.0 that I'm most proud of:
🏷 Bulk tag editing — select 50 imported bookmarks, assign "Read Later" in one click. This alone saves hours if you're migrating from another tool.
📥 HTML bookmark import — export from Chrome/Firefox/Safari, import into PALM. Your folder names become tags automatically.
☐ Bulk delete — clean up your library without opening each card
⬇ Export as HTML — standard bookmark format, re-importable into any browser
The API key thing — yes, you need a free Gemini key. Takes 30 seconds at aistudio.google.com, no credit card, completely free. I know it's a step, but it means your data never touches my servers — I literally can't see your bookmarks.
