I built PainSpotter because I was tired of the "What should I build next?" guessing game. Two failed side projects taught me a lesson — the problem isn't usually code, it's choosing the wrong problem in the first place. People will tell you exactly what they need if you actually listen. The trick is listening at scale.
So PainSpotter spends every night reading the web's busiest communities for me — about 5,000 fresh posts and 100k comments per week — then asks an LLM three questions about every pain it finds:
1. How loudly are people complaining? (pain intensity 1–10)
2. Would they pay to make it stop? (payment willingness 1–10)
3. Could one indie dev actually ship a fix? (tech feasibility 1–10)
The top-scored opportunities surface as a ranked feed. Free tier gives you a JSON REST API + MCP so you can wire it straight into your own agent or Notion. Pro is $20/mo (1,000 API calls); Business $50/mo adds exportable opportunity reports — built for makers running multiple side bets in parallel.
