I'm building PageLens, cookieless website analytics, and this launch is about one question every site owner now has:
"Is ChatGPT actually using my website, and is it worth anything?"
Search Console answers that for Google. For AI assistants, nothing did. So PageLens tracks four steps:
1. Read: which AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot…) read which pages
2. Used in answers: when ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity open a page live while answering someone
3. Visits: people who click through from the answer
4. Revenue: whether those visitors sign up or pay (Stripe / Paddle)
Visits and revenue work as soon as the script is installed. Bot tracking needs one extra step, because bots don't run JavaScript: an npm package for Next.js, a WordPress plugin, or a one-click Cloudflare Worker for Wix, Webflow, Framer, Squarespace and Shopify.
Honest caveat: "used in answers" means the assistant opened your page, not that it quoted you, and answers built from their search index leave no trace. So treat these numbers as a minimum.
The rest of the toolkit is in the same 3 KB script: session replay, JS errors, Core Web Vitals, funnels (in order, strictly in a row, or with skippable steps), scroll depth, active time on page, and an MCP server so Claude or Cursor can query your stats. No cookies, no stored IPs, no consent banner.
