I had a few days free so I decided to build a thing. I’m largely devoid of original ideas so I built a (micro-) blogging app with a slight twist: you manage it using email.
All you need is an email account. No new tools to wrangle. No password to forget.
Compose in your favourite email editor and send to a secret address. Pagecord does the rest.
It's great for bloggy long-form writing, but it’s maybe even more fun for micro-blogging your thoughts as you would a Twitter feed (you can subscribe to people/blogs using RSS). You can see what it looks like via my own pagecord at https://pagecord.com/pagecord.

Just a quick post-launch update. I decided to add support for following other Pagecords this afternoon which is now live. When you log in you can see a chronological feed of all the posts from the people you follow. You can also view this in your own RSS feed if you'd prefer to read all your followees posts in an RSS reader. All the details on this post.

What a fun and useful product you whipped up! It took me a while to learn to design and publish my own personal website way back when using Dreamweaver, and then later learning Wordpress. There’s tons of self publishing sites out there but love the idea of removing all barriers to publishing your ideas to the world by making it as easy as writing / publishing directly from within your email interface. 👏🏽
