Page Scanner
Clean up a web page, then save it as a searchable PDF
Capture a whole web page in Chrome or Edge, take out the ads, banners and any element you point at, and save it as a PDF whose text you can still search and copy. Also PNG, Markdown or Word. Your coding agent can run it too. Free, no account.
Hi, I'm Don, a software engineer in Seoul. I build Page Scanner in the evenings.
It started with a new job. Since I changed jobs, a lot of my work has been documenting purchases: find the order page in a web store, save it, attach it to the paperwork. Three things kept getting in the way.
The capture tools I tried surrounded the page with so many buttons and panels that I kept losing track of the page itself. The order page came with ads, cookie banners and rows of recommendations that I couldn't remove. And when I saved it as a PDF, the text had become a picture, so later I couldn't search my own receipts for an order number.
So Page Scanner does those three things and tries to stay out of the way:
One click captures the whole page to the bottom of its scroll, including app screens that scroll inside a box.
Ads, cookie banners, chat bubbles and pop-ups are hidden before the capture. Anything else you point at in the editor is removed and the page is scanned again, so the gap closes.
The PDF comes from Chrome's own print engine, laid out once with the preview, so the text stays selectable and searchable and your crop lands on the same spot.
Crop, blur or redact, mark it up, and export PDF, PNG, JPEG, Markdown or Word.
Your coding agent can use it too. ClaudeCode or any MCP client can list your open tabs and capture one, including pages you're signed into, through a small local CLI. No separate browser.
What it costs, honestly: the vector PDF needs Chrome's debugger API, so Chrome shows a "started debugging this browser" bar while a scan runs. It works in Chromium browsers only (Chrome and Edge), and Chrome's own pages and the Web Store can't be captured.
It's free and there's no need to create an account.

Who hunted Page Scanner?
Page Scanner was hunted by Don. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
