Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built OwnVault around a simple question: does a personal password vault really need an account and a cloud server? OwnVault takes a deliberately local-only approach. It doesn’t request network permission, and the encrypted vault stays entirely on the user’s Android device. The current version includes: 🔒 AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive fields 🗄️ A SQLCipher-encrypted database 🔑 Keys protected through Android Keystore 👆 Pattern, biometrics and master PIN protection 🎲 A built-in password generator 💾 User-controlled encrypted backup and restore 🧹 Automatic clipboard clearing There are no accounts, ads, analytics, cloud synchronization or recurring subscriptions. The Android version is free to try, with a one-time Pro unlock. I also want to be transparent about the current limitations: OwnVault does not yet support Android Autofill, browser extensions or cross-device synchronization. Since the vault is local-only, users are responsible for keeping an encrypted backup somewhere safe. I’d love your honest feedback: - Is the local-only security model explained clearly? - Is Android Autofill the most important feature to add next? - Does the one-entry free version provide enough room to evaluate the app? Thanks for checking out OwnVault!

Who hunted OwnVault?

OwnVault was hunted by vilin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
