When I set out to build Ownmind as a solo indie developer, privacy was my first thought: how do I deliver a feature-rich app that uses the minimum permissions and gives you full access to your own data? No cloud, no accounts, private by design. Powered by Gemma 4, Google's open-weight AI model, running entirely offline on your device. Ownmind is built around a simple idea: externalize your thoughts and write it down.
I've been building software for almost two decades. This was an exciting project, learning native android and ios as well as local on device AI models. Reach out if you have questions or if there's a feature you want to see! I plan on adding handwriting support soon too!
