Hi Product Hunt, I'm Shun, the maker of Ownfeed.
I've shipped a few small products, and the same thing happened every time: I built it, I launched it, and nobody came. What did work was replying to people who were already describing the problem my product solves. But finding those posts ate up my whole day.
So I built the thing I wanted: a feed, like a social timeline, where every post is from someone who might need my product.
How it works:
- Paste your product's URL. That's the whole setup, no keywords.
- Ownfeed reads Reddit, X, Bluesky and Hacker News every day and keeps only the posts where your product can help.
- Each post is tagged: Pain point, Looking for a tool, or Mention.
- You scroll for five minutes each morning, open the original post, and reply.
What it doesn't do: it never posts or replies for you, it doesn't write replies, and it never touches your social accounts. You write the replies, not an AI. That's why they land.
You can try a full day of your own feed for $1.
I'd love your feedback: where do you find the first people for your product today?
I'll take care of it myself.Thank you again, truly 🙇♂️
Hi Shunsuke, how does Ownfeed curate its findings? for example, let's say it found 5 posts on HN, and 1 of the posts has a lot of discussions. Is that one post from HN presented at the top of the results or indicated in some way that this might be worth looking into first? You might already have this. I've only seen the images of Ownfeed that are posted here. Congrats on the launch!
@shun_build I've never signed up for anything so quickly. This was one of those "DUH!" products I knew I wanted/needed. But I signed up for the $1 trial and can't get past step one (and can't find any support links on the site). Why is it saying my product (qr-codes.com) is a private address? Does this tool not work for SaaS products?
Can it pick up a problem someone describes without using the usual keywords?
The $1 trial is enough to make me curious. I’d want to see what shows up in that first day.
The first users angle is interesting. Finding people who already have the problem seems like a better starting point than guessing where they hang out.
I like the hands off approach. A tool finding the conversation is one thing; replying should still be on me.
I’d be curious how good the matches are when someone never mentions a specific product.
Having Reddit, X, Bluesky and Hacker News in one place would save me a fair bit of checking.
The post categories seem handy for quickly spotting what’s actually worth opening.
Finding people already asking for help on Reddit is probably the bit I’d use most.
I like that there’s no keyword setup That part usually gets annoying fast.

Ownfeed was hunted by Shunsuke Nakagawa. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
