Like so many of you, we at Overlap (YC S24) love podcasts. Our CEO Jonathan’s favorite podcast has long been Acquired, Casey’s is Impaulsive (how Gen Z) and mine is Freakonomics.

what’s the ideal occasion you’re hoping Overlap fits into?
This sounds intriguing! I'm curious about how the AI curates these clips. What kind of metrics are you using to determine the "best" moments? Also, any thoughts on how you'll handle user-generated content for playlist creation? Excited to see how Overlap evolves, @buzz_rubenstein!

I’ve been using this app for the last two weeks and it’s really upped the game of my morning routine. I have a long list of podcasts that I always “meant to listen to” but never found the stamina. Overlap’s playlists make this broadened range achievable. I’ve loved learning from clips and I no longer feel listening burnout. As a person who chronically doesn’t reach the end of the episode, I also love the feeling of completing a playlist.
This sounds like a game-changer for the podcast space! The shift from full episodes to curated clips is spot on, especially for those of us with limited time. Love that you’re using AI for personalized playlists; it’ll definitely enhance the UX. Excited to see how Overlap grows and adapts to user preferences! Love it! The custom playlists are great for getting smart on a topic fast and sampling a bunch of the longer form podcasts to figure out what could be worth listening to. Also really like the “best moments” feature for when I don’t have time to listen to a full podcast. The curation is great.
This app is fantastic! I love the diverse range of recommendations tailored just for me. Overlap has expanded my podcast options and introduced me to topics and shows I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise!
